|"Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof," Leviticus 25:10|
There's been an internal 'discussion' amongst the Patriot movement regarding Liberty. Specifically the roll of religion and morals in the definition of 'personal Liberty' as it pertains to the whole 'gay marriage' topic.
Some argue that regardless of ones actions, it's okay so long as they don't hurt anyone, or infringe on someone's personal rights. Even if it's offensive.
Others argue that if it's not moral and in line with Biblical principles, then it's not okay, whether it offends someone or not, even if it does not infringe on their rights.
Curtis has an excellent post in favor of Liberty based on Biblical principles and morality in general from our Founding Fathers and other historical figures.
I agree 100% with Curtis. To borrow a quote:
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” – John AdamsThose who would seek Liberty without Biblical based principles and morals might as well follow this man:
|"...Communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality..." - Karl Marx|
