Gunman in Theater Kills 12, Wounds 50+ in Colorado

My co-worker was supposed to be there last night. Thank goodness she decided not to go.

Apparently in this theater, nobody had a CCW to stop this madman.

And some in my family wonder why I CCW EVERYWHERE!

A gunman wearing a gas mask set off an explosive device and then fired into a crowded movie theater near the Aurora Mall, killing 12 people and injuring at least 53 others during a midnight opening of the latest Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises."

Police arrested a man wearing a gas mask next to a white car in the parking lot behind the theater. 7NEWS has confirmed that the suspect is a 24-year-old white man, James Holmes."He did not resist.

He did not put up a fight," said Frank Fania, a police spokesman.
Moviegoers said they didn't know what was happening when they heard a hissing sound and smelled smoke, and some thought the attack was part of the movie, since it occurred during a battle scene. Then they saw a silhouette of a person in the smoke at the front of the theater near the screen, pointing a gun at the crowd.

Many of those injured or killed were young adults, teens or kids. The victims range in age from 3 months to 45 years old. The 3 month old has been discharged and is doing well, a hospital spokeswoman said. Many of the victims were rushed immediately to hospitals in police cars by responding officers because there were not enough ambulances.

Ten people died in the theater, two more were rushed to nearby hospitals, and were pronounced dead. The Police Department initially said 14 people had died.

Below are some pictures from my co-worker. The suspect lives across the street and the entire neighborhood is blocked off.

Gun Grabber #1, Mayor Bloomberg is already coming out with his gun ban rant as is British twat Piers Morgan.

Not surprised.

Is it a coincidence the the UN Gun Ban Treaty goes up for voting in 7 days?

Prayers for those affected and for justice against the madman who perpetrated this.

Stay safe!

  1. NEVER go ANYWHERE that firearms are NOT allowed. DO NOT make yourself a victim. Thank GOD I live in Alaska. I've walked into a bank with a firearm and NO ONE CARED! haha

    1. Well, here in Colorado, a business can post a 'NO GUNS' sign but you don't have to oblige by it because it's not law, BUT if they know you have a gun, they can ask you to leave or you could be charged with trespassing. Therefore, I conceal carry EVERYWHERE to ensure I will never be victim. Nobody will ever know any different...unless it's really needed.

  2. Damn, meant to add, Bloomberg is an unindicted felon for his strawman gun buys in the 90's. Guess we don't have equal justice in America anymore.

  3. .thanks for sharing

  4. My understanding of Colorado law is that if a private business posts a "No Guns" sign, it would be illegal for you to carry there. Is that incorrect?

    1. No,a business can post a "No Guns" sign but it is not law, just the policy of the business. If you are discovered to be carrying a gun in such a business, they have the right to ask you to leave. If you refuse, you can be charged with trespassing for not leaving when asked, not for possessing a firearm.

Having said that, some cities have restrictions on conceal carry but those local ordinances/laws cannot trump State law. Even so, they still pass them, until someone decides to challenge them in court and get them overturned.

The city of Aurora has the following restrictions:

      1. "Dangerous weapon" includes firearm

      2. Revocation of license for furnishing a firearm to a minor or someone under the influence.

      3. Window displays cannot include firearms with barrels less than 12 inches long.

      4. Unlawful to carry concealed "dangerous weapon"

      5. Unlawful to discharge firearms, unless by law enforcement on duty or on shooting range.

      6. Unlawful to possess firearm while under the influence of intoxicant

      7. Unlawful to have loaded firearm in motor vehicle.

      8. Unlawful for a juvenile to possess a firearm.

    2. Thanks for the clarification, Ironwill. So Colorado's law mirrors Kalifornia's law in that respect then. It's the same here.

It's a damned shame that no one had a gun there...
