Google Pressure Cookers and Backpacks, Get a Visit from the Feds

Michele Catalano was looking for information online about pressure cookers. Her husband, in the same time frame, was Googling backpacks. Wednesday morning, six men from a joint terrorism task force showed up at their house to see if they were terrorists. Which begs the question: How'd the government know what they were Googling?
Read the rest here and ask yourself, "Why weren't they able to stop the Boston Bombers?"

Big Brother is watching.

  1. The FBI had advance warning of the Oklahoma City Bombing, 9/11, and evidently, the Boston Bombers. Each terrorist attack was used as justification to suspend civil liberties. "Let it happen on purpose" is the new term for "Reichstag Fire."

  2. Seems like there is a potential for overloading the system here....... I wonder if the system is smart enough to discount deliberate keyword jxtapositions.....there's probably an algorithm for that......

  3. Seems like the Guvmint pulled the link too....

The update to this story was that the FBI had a tipoff from the former employer of the the husband who searched his work computer and found the search terms, including specific terms for building bombs from pressure cookers. The updates are available all over the web, leaving the story on your blog without this important part of the story makes you look paranoid. We don't need to look more worried than we need to be (which is a lot).
